The Prime 4 is not only much better built in metal, but it has a tilting, superior 10″ screen, bigger pads, better microphone channels and output options, standalone mixer capability, and more extensive FX.
The added ability to latch Touch FX allows you to focus on other aspects of your mix while the effect remains active. Note that the in-jog displays only display track info though, not artwork – although this is itself a first for Prime gear, and more useful really than artwork. The deck sections include a full-sized pitch fader with pitch bend buttons, looping controls, 8 performance pads with RGB light strips, transport controls and dedicated deck layering buttons.
This 1:1 hardware to software integration displays moving wareforms and music library information on the HD 7” touchscreen, whilst also providing full access to FX. Additionally, Numark Engine DJ devices now have the option to switch between Isolate and Normal mixer EQ types. With an overall height of 112cm, width of 110cm and depth of 52cm this stand is compact enough for most spaces yet big enough for most DJ systems.
