About this deal

Most conventional monitors can only display six or seven stops, which is great for standard images; but a log image looks too flat. I Don’t have a clue if this would be possible with a non recording device but it would certainly be very useful if he Shinobi could still indicate that the camera is recording. The Ninja V pro kit allows you to have a high-quality compact cinema rig, while still being flexible and mobile.

AtomHDR engine has been created to perfectly manage and match the camera Gamma and Gamut on the input. Built uniquely for the new Ninja and Ninja Ultra, it not only looks beautiful but introduces a host of great new features.Starting with the Nikon Z6 and Z7, with other cameras being added soon, users can experience RAW video to get the maximum dynamic range, colour accuracy and detail. Ninja can capture RAW HDMI inputs up to 6K at 30fps and simultaneously output a standard viewable video signal via HDMI for devices that don’t support RAW formats. The screen has 1000 nits peak brightness for daylight viewing, 10+ stops of dynamic range displayed, and 4K input. It lets you configure and control your Ninja from up to 15 meters away via Bluetooth LE while you define camera connections, select Gamma/EOTF and adjust Gamut settings. Universally popular, Ninja V ticks more boxes for more filmmakers than any other 5” monitor on the market.

To verify if the firmware update was successfully completed, power your Ninja back on, navigate to the main menu, and scroll to the info tab.

Ninja V records in a wide range of codecs: Apple ProRes, ProRes RAW and Avid DNx to enable wide compatibility across camera types and edit software. Holdan showcased the latest technology with a striking Tech Lounge, a mocktail bar envisioned and created by our own Graphic Designer Jo Mohan, working alongside Design Consultant Martha Camarillo. The provided AtomX 5” sun hood can be used during difficult bright outdoor conditions to help maintain the quality of the playback image, by reducing ambient light and increasing monitoring options when recording outside. In terms of capture, virtually any HDMI or SDI source is supported, including cameras from Nikon, Fujifilm, Canon, Panasonic, Sony, Z-Cam, Olympus, RED and ARRI.

I have noticed that sometimes the ninjas display seems to show some banding in the highlight roll off that I don’t see in the Shinobi but maybe thats down to the way it processes the images. The NDI TX option turns your Connect-enabled Ninja into an NDI source, visible to all other authorized devices on the network. The final option for powering your Ninja V Pro-Kit is the optional NPF battery or any 4 cell NPF you might have. When applied a LUT still shows how the image will be effected but it also effects the exposure tools including the waveforms, scopes and the false colour display. The other option is via the DC power supply lockable jack, letting you connect to an international power plug, a great option if you are working in a studio setup, with very little movement. The advanced long-range RF system is completely wireless, offering incredible accuracy and stability. This portable powerhouse gives you complete confidence in what you’re capturing, so you’re free to push creative boundaries more than ever before. These products give video professionals a faster, higher quality and more affordable production system, whether they create for social media, YouTube, TV or cinema. They retain the same SATA III connector as traditional SSDs and they are backward compatible with our range of Ninja, Shogun and Sumo devices. This can be a huge benefit with cameras that provide an output signal via HDMI that either matches or exceeds the cameras ability to record internally.
