I love how most of the characters in Bungou stray dogs are basically just trying to find a purpose, a rasion d'etre. Idky but this has always been close to my heart. That final scene when Dazai says ' because this is the only world he can write his novel in " and" I wish I could have read it" Beast - tells the story of an alternative version of the world of Bungo Stray Dogs. The light novel has been adapted into three manga volumes. It is not part of the main BSD universe. But my favorite part with Paul was the scene when he meets Rimbaud again and the last gift. Yoshihide's expressions in the stage play were so on point, I was weeping. I read that book a few days ago, and I couldn't stop myself from reading the next volume eventhough I have my end of year exam in 2 weeks.

I was actually thinking that what if the next novel is about Dazai?! I know we already have two around him but what about something from his viewpoint?! Dark themes and ideas are presented, from suicide, torture to murder. Maybe this spoils too much of the book, but I wish it was as simple as this. It's not.
