About this deal

Our Clearview Towing Mirror base mounts onto these same holes, but due to their varying positions on individual vehicles, our mounting holes are elongated to allow for the variance.

This in reality means, if your caravan/trailer is wider than the rear of your tow vehicle, you must fit towing mirrors to comply with the law. While they are more expensive than other products listed here, they are a long-term investment when it comes to durability, and perfect for long-term travel. All Clearview Towing Mirror® models have been individually tested by Evo Compliance, a NSW based firm with extensive experience within the automotive field and more than 15 years in automotive/mechanical engineering consulting, vehicle compliance and certification. Anyone have any ideas of how to sort it besides trying to get hold of the stall holder I purchased it from, things brand new just weak Spring/tension so not a happy bunny.

Audible alert (beeping) or an induced vibration or light shake of the steering wheel will occur if the turn signal is flashing. We have certainly spent more hours, resources and money in the development and innovation of Towing Mirrors than any other company in the world. Tested on the corrugated roads of Australia – from Cape York’s Telegraph Track to the Gibb River Road, Clearview® Mirrors are purpose built tough for Australian conditions.Clearview Accessories will be closed from the 22nd December 2023 to the 8th January 2024 to celebrate the Christmas season with our loved ones. Size and shape: Towing mirrors come in a variety of sizes and shapes, so it’s important to choose ones that provide a clear view of your trailer and the surrounding area. Width – even when fully retracted, they are still slightly wider than a normal mirror, so you may have to fold them in when in crowded car parks or tight spaces to prevent knocks and bumps from pedestrians, walls, and other vehicles. If fitted to doors they are not suitable for fitting on panels with an angle of more than 45* as the mirror is then too low and is below the waist line of the door.

Our preference is for flat mirrors with a large surface area, but some caravanners prefer a flat mirror on the driver’s side and a convex mirror on the passenger side. New mounting holes will need to be drilled in the side of the door panels to support the mirror base.Unless you have a very wide tow car and an unusually narrow caravan, this isn’t possible without extension mirrors, so you will, in effect, need them to stay legal. Ultimately, it’s up to you to decide whether or not you need extendable towing mirrors, but they can definitely be a worthwhile investment for anyone who frequently tows trailers or other large objects. The mirrors can be adjusted at the touch of a button, have indictators for increased visibility/safety, and come with a lifetime guarantee. Easy to steal or lose – because they simply clip/strap on, the mirrors can be stolen, and you’ll need to check them for tightness regularly.
