About this deal

At the end of the story Elmer makes the other elephants laugh like they have never laughed before which makes them decide to have a parade in honour of Elmer and they decorate themselves to become just like him. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Elmer is a heart-warming, uplifting story of a young elephant that is different from all the other elephants in the herd.

Sophie Aldred also read his first story which was also animated by Mike Hibbert in an episode of Words and Pictures from 1993, featuring the letter E. On leaving college he drew regularly for Punch, Reader’s Digest, and The Times Educational Supplement. The cover of the romanian edition was very glossy, the format of the book is very large, the drawings are ok, it has a lot of colors, but the story wasn`t something that I would remember over time. Children and families will enjoy this calming lullaby of a book, with its gentle refrain, muted colours and fairy tale-like charm.Llegado ese día todos los elefantes se pintan de colores y salen a festejar siendo Elmer el único de color elefante. These books are the perfect size for little hands to explore themselves making them feel independent whilst improving fine motor skills and encouraging a love of books. Because Elmer learns to embrace his patchwork, all of the other elephants decide to paint themselves multi-coloured once a year and celebrate a carnival of colour! There is a pretty high picture to text ratio but there is still quite a substantial amount of text, usually a few sentences on each page. David McKee's comical fable about everyone’s favorite patchwork elephant teaches readers to be themselves and celebrates the power of laughter.

At the first hint of a chill in the air, Elmer's friends start complaining about the cold, so Elmer decides to show them what cold weather is really like. Elmer the patchwork elephant is different to the rest of the herd, his desperate to fit in with the the group and goes to great lengths to achieve it. However, when Elmer changes his appearance to fit in to his surroundings he is no longer recognisable by the other elephants. David McKee was born in Devon and went to Plymouth Art College, where he had a traditional training. Little hands will love turning each sturdy page and meeting favourite friends from the world of Elmer the patchwork elephant. The story of Elmer was originally narrated by British voice actor Johnny Morris, who died on 6 May 1999, aged 82. It’s strange because we humans seem to like difference in other things- in dogs and trees and flowers, but we don’t accept it in people.
