About this deal

I played a back-to-back the other week on an NXS2, and the other DJ plugged his headphones into the mini-jack slot and was trying to cue his track up while I was mid-mix, which obviously is pretty bad on him which is another matter, but hey, that would have definitely been a good time for the new feature! The new Pioneer DJM-900NXS2 has 4 phono inputs, DVS support and 2 USB ports for easy switch over during sets. Round the back the Midi socket has been sacrificed to take the mic socket that’s moved from the top (remember, there’s an iPad USB presumably also for Midi now on top), and the ground poles for your Technics earth leads are now frankly huge (not sure why), but everything else is exactly as you’d expect from the previous DJM-900NXS. Improved channel fader curves: the three curves have been finely tuned to give more accuracy and control over your mixes. lol So, for personal use out of the club, I can see its benefits, but apart from that, I don't really see any purpose due to a possible delay if it came to trying to beatmatch anything.

Talking of sharing the mixer with other DJs, the DJM-900NXS2 has twin USBs meaning twin sound cards, so two DVS DJs can share the mixer by plugging their laptops in simultaneously, making DJ switchovers a smooth and wonderful thing (Pioneer has of course taken a leaf straight out of Rane’s book with this feature).Maybe I should watch a video or read a few release notes so it's explained what it has actually been changed to, but what difference is that going to make?

MiniPin), Magvel fader and DVS support which allows Rekordbox DJ DVS to be controlled by Rekordbox performance software via turntables or players (Rekordbox DVS Plus Pack coming soon). Bought a pair of XDJ-1000Mk2s with the DJM-900NXS2 in the package deal and after struggling with deciding if taking a step down to a DJM-750Mk2 would be the logical solution for a home setup, I bit eventually took a leap of faith and purchased this model instead. I am simply a DJ and just wanted to give you my honest opinion from a DJ's perspective on what it has been like on my transition from my most favourable mixer to date, the DJM-900NXS2, to the brand new DJM-A9.Simply Sound Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, register number 08069008 and act as a credit broker and not a lender. The X-pad is now also improved, because you get eight virtual buttons on it, that are lit from behind and change depending on the effect.
