After giving it a lot of thought I came up with an idea to construct a wheel guard, should the rubbing be a problem for me. My theory is that some people see the trailer as the easier option, maybe because they can access their gear more easily, carry more, and also access their bike more easily for repair since nothing’s hanging on it and in the way. The ultra-packable design does add some points back to the overall versatility score, as we found getting this trailer in and out of our house was quick and easy. The poppers which hold them flat against the trolley when they’re not being used can be a bit fiddly to line up.

Hold your bicycle straight (level) when unhitching the Travoy, otherwise the twisting of the hitch makes adds more friction. Their bulkiness makes them a pain to maneuver through a hallway, and makes them more unwieldly navigating among congested traffic.That said, when we were really thinking about having a trailer in tow, it was easy to keep all two wheels down. The Travoy weighs under 12 pounds and folds down to about the size of a carry-on bag (21″ x 18″ x 8”). The reflectors on the bottom are only visible from directly behind, at large distance and low perspective. However, the reality of how easy it is to use this trailer heavily influenced how much action it saw, and it held up well. Sure, I can’t haul the Piccolo and Travoy at the same time, but it would be nice if the Travoy could just attach right to where the Piccolo connects instead of needing a separate part so my wife and I could easily swap who is hauling the kid and who is hauling the groceries.

I agree about the flaw with the folding kickstand, I haven’t had an issue so far but it would have been better for it to be permanently open because I never close mine. I was riding extra carefully, slowing down over bumps and trying to avoid having one of the trailer's wheels going through a pothole. With a weight capacity of 60 pounds, a sturdy kickstand, and the ability to fold down to the size of a briefcase, the Travoy folding bike trailer is all about turning everyday errands into an excuse to get outside on your bike. Between each section there is a twist handle which allows the sections to hinge and fold flat against each other for storage. The Burley Travoy trailer doesn’t seem to impact riding style, aside from being a little more cautious with what size gaps you can cycle through.Some cyclists do everything to minimize the weight and maximize the aerodynamics of their two-wheel machines. There are multiple grab points on the trailer in both the open and closed positions, as I alluded earlier. I didn’t want it on my seatpost when riding my mountain bike in the mountains (because it would prevent the dropper from dropping all the way). We used to ride to the market but given our new location we can walk there in roughly the same time it takes to get the bikes out of the garage. The Travoy, the folding bike trailer is all about turning everyday errands into an excuse to get outside on your bike.

While our two crash pads probably weighed in at just around 30 pounds, there was a significant bounce and flex in the structure of the trailer. This is not a trailer that you have to worry about threading through traffic pinch points or the (sadly necessary) bollards blocking the entrances of multi-use paths to cars.
