This is the time of year I do not shoot many pictures. With the outdoor conditions unfriendly for doing my sort of photography, and studios hard to heat enough to make working in them pleasant for models, this is only to be expected.
However it is a great time of year to plan for the better weather. Work out what is needed for the future shooting sessions. This year I plan to do another book among other things. Like previous years this will not simply be a matter of hiring models and shooting pictures haphazardly in the hope that something good turns out. I find I get much better results if the whole exercise is planned in great detail. Then if unexpected picture ideas evolve as a session progresses it is a bonus. With a book I usually start with a theme and then plan how to do the shots I have in mind to illustrate this.
While all this planning is going on I thought I would put a few of my favourite pictures from last year on here. It is not a complete list as many of my favourites have already appeared previously on my blogs, so these are some that have not.
