Beginning the Season
Now it is time for me to start shooting pictures for my next book. This one is based around a number of themes which will be interpreted by the models used. So to start off I shot some pictures of Rebecca Tun and these are a few of the results from the session. You will notice that I also used the background I described in my previous blog. The fake cave. At least it looks better with Rebecca inside it.

Using the cave image I have added the seated figure. The lighting used on her is broadly the same as was used to produce the cave background; mostly coming from the back. This gave the image a better chance of looking as if the situaton is real rather than just two separate images pasted together.

Unusually for me, on the actual day of the photo-shoot, the sun was shining so it was possible to take a few shots out of doors,. However an icy wind cut this fairly short. The presence of the chair is important as it relates to a theme in my forthcoming book.

This shot was taken in a conservatory and gave my subject a chance to warm up again. The lighting used is natural sun light which was diffused by the blinds on one side and reflected by binds on her other side. Beyond her was a wooden frame which supported a painted paper back-drop. All these pictures were taken using a 50 mm lens on a full frame camera.
